dss apprenticeship programme winners announced
Middle East & North Africa search gathers best and brightest marketing students from the region

After a rigorous search, DSS is pleased to announce the winners of a region-wide search for top marketing students who will join this year’s edition of the DSS Apprenticeship Programme, which comes under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The seven outstanding university students who will be interning at DSS early next month include: Alaa Alwan from the College of Business Administration (CBA), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mohammed Al Zamil, University College of Bahrain, Bahrain; Jehad Al Khalili, Modern College of Business & Science, Oman; Saheim Khalifa Al Josiman, Qatar University; Mohammed Dagher, American University in Kuwait, Kuwait; Faten Fathallah, Lebanese American University, Lebanon; and Hend Mahgoub, University of Cairo, Egypt.

Now covering seven key markets across the region, from the initial two, the Apprenticeship Programme offers the selected interns a first-hand experience in the organization and marketing of DSS, one of the most successful tourism marketing events of the region.

While in Dubai for their apprenticeship, the students will be hosted by Qamardeen Hotel, operated by Southern Sun, the very first hotel to open its doors in the Old Town at Downtown Burj Dubai.

Khulood Al Thani, DSS Marketing Manager said: “We’re happy with the turnout for this year’s batch of interns. In the next few weeks, they will be working hand-in-hand with mentors, who will share with them valuable insights and skills in managing and marketing a truly world-class event such as the DSS. We hope that they will walk away from this experience enriched by new knowledge and skills, as well as new friends.”
