DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 prepares for bigger exhibitor and visitor turnout in line with show's robust growth trend
Features new event where over 100 members of Association for Professional Interior Designers will discuss new ideas and trends
DOMOTEX Middle East, the only dedicated carpets and floor coverings exhibition in the MENA region, has announced that it has prepared extensively to accommodate the expected increase in the number of trade exhibitors and visitors for the 2009 edition of the annual event, even as a more convenient schedule has also been arranged to fit perfectly within the region's business calendar. DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 will occupy the Central and East Halls of the Dubai Airport Expo Centre from May 12 to 14, 2009, retaining popular sections of the past editions.
Organisers, Deutsche Messe, expect exhibition space to be sold out because of the ideal timing, and also as a result of the momentum gained by DOMOTEX Middle East 2008, which saw a four per cent increase in exhibitors and a two per cent increase in visitor footfall. The second edition of Creative Flooring and the newly held Designers Corner, which were much appreciated by both exhibitors and visitors, will be extended for the 2009 exhibition, while the APID Flooring Seminar will be introduced for the first time at DOMOTEX Middle East 2009.
“The feedback from both exhibitors and visitors has been positive. The market opportunities stay very promising driven by the continuous growth of construction activities,” said Angela Schaschen, Managing Director of Deutsche Messe Branch Dubai.
Creative Flooring will demonstrate how the newest techniques can be used to lay a hotel and office floor. Professionals from the UK will again be presenting and discussing floor laying skills. The Designers Corner is the event for interior designers and architects to see the latest designs in flooring. The latest projects will be shown in the Designers Lounge and seminars will address the hottest topics in interior design. The American University in Dubai and the Association for Professional Interior Designers (APID) are the official supporters of Designers Corner.
The APID Flooring Seminar serves APID members and potential members with information about the role of flooring in interior design. Renowned speakers will be invited by APID to exchange ideas about interior design. Over 100 professional interior designers are expected to attend the seminar, located in the Designers Corner.
"APID is pleased to work together with DOMOTEX Middle East on the Flooring seminar. The atmosphere of the Designers Corner and the seminar program fits perfectly in the ambition of APID to provide members with high-quality events and the latest information," said Kenneth Laidler, APID President.
DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 will showcase a complete line of handmade and machine-made carpets; textile and resilient floor coverings; parquet and wooden flooring; laminates; sports arena flooring; fibres, yarns and textiles; cleaning and application technologies; ceramic tiles; and natural stone and marble floorings. The exhibition and trade fair attracts key industry players such as wholesalers and retailers of floor coverings, decision makers in the contracting business, planners, architects, interior designers, construction companies, project planners, floor fitters and other skilled workers from the sector.
The expected development of DOMOTEX Middle East matches with the growth of DOMOTEX Hannover and the booming DOMOTEXasia/CHINAFLOOR. DOMOTEX Hannover will take place from January 17 to 20, 2009, and DOMOTEXasia/CHINAFLOOR will be held in Shanghai from March 24 to 26, 2009.
