Department of Municipal Affairs Receives High Level Korean
Delegation Headed by H.E. Kim Hyong at Enviro 2009

H.E. Ahmed Shareef, Undersecretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs, received the delegation and discussed some of the strategies and key environmental initiatives and the municipal sector’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
H.E. Shareef said: “this conference and exhibition is not only timely but very important to the Emirate and the region as we experience exciting rapid growth and transformation of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It is truly imperative that, as the governing municipal body, we seek to enhance relationships and collaboration opportunities through understanding and cooperation in the protection of the environment and facilitation of sustainable government programs.”
During their visit to the booth, the delegation received a briefing on some of the key environmental projects, technologies and environmental solutions from Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Al Ain City municipality and Western Region Municipality.
The key projects included: Solid Waste Management, Pest Control, preservation of habitat and natural resources, as well as the protection programmes focused on reducing pollution and emissions from industrial and oil zones.
The Enviro 2009 exhibition and conference will wrap up today at 6:00 PM and further activities are planned throughout the day at the municipality booth located Hall 3, Booth P-09.
