The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and Dubai Customs agreed to reinforce cooperation between both sides in the upcoming period in the field of corporate excellence, quality and strategy taking into account the strategic partnership that joins them both in order to strengthen it through exchanging visits and learning about the best practices at each department.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs recently paid a visit to Dubai Customs to learn about the Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department modus operandi at Customs and benefit from its practices. This comes as part of the continuous efforts Dubai Customs makes to anchor partnership and cooperation with all of the strategic partners of the government departments.
Mr. Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department at Dubai Customs welcomed the visiting delegation and quoted HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai that the government "shall operate according to modern concepts, advanced methods and wise visions."
Mr. Amin Eisa Ebrahim, Corporate Excellence Officer gave an introductory about the Corporate Excellence Section and its mission which stands on fostering sustainable excellence culture at Dubai Customs through people, business systems and companies. He also talked about the Section's structure and its role in following up corporate excellence issues.
Mr. Mohammed Al Jilani, Strategic Planning Specialist talked about the Strategy Section at Dubai Customs, the current organizational structure and the key tasks it handles such as updating, developing, explaining and implementing Customs' strategic plan.
Mr. Wasim Saeed, Senior Performance Analyst presented a briefing about the Corporate Performance Section, its tasks and responsibilities and the sought objectives through the corporate performance methodology most importantly; Dubai Government requirements with regards to the DGEP standards.
Ms. Nasim Al Muhairi, Statistics Section Manager at Dubai Customs talked about the significance of the section which is considered the main database of the non-oil trade statistics in Dubai. She stressed that the section's strategy lies in enhancing the provided services and developing the section so that it can become a research and study center in the future.
Mr. Mahmood Al Sisi, Senior Quality Officer gave a brief presentation about the Quality section and its most significant accomplishments in 2009 and the first half of 2010 including earning three new certificates in quality management and participating in obtaining the Security Information Management certificate and the IT Services Management Certificate.
Mrs. Maha Abdulla Daboos, Head of Corporate Performance Assessment Section at General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai said that the main objective of this successful and highly beneficial visit is achieved; that is to learn about the best practices of Dubai Customs in the field of strategy and corporate excellence especially when they were introduced to the organizational unit of the Strategy and Corporate Excellence Dept at Customs and its numerous huge achievements which are considered a source of pride for all Dubai Government departments. She also expressed her will to visit Customs again to further exchange experts and benefit from the expertise of Dubai Customs departments and sections.
