Daesh has launched offensives Tuesday near the city of Hadith in northwest Iraq, Reuters reported.

Airstrikes by the US-led coalition helped Iraqi forces beat back an onslaught towards Haditha on Monday, US Army Col. Steve Warren said in a news briefing.

More than 100 Daesh militants were killed, according to Warren, but no figures were given for casualties on the Iraqi army side.

"Every one of these Daesh attacks has been broken by a combination of coalition air power and Iraqi security forces," he added.

Warren maintained that Daesh has been in a "defensive crouching position" since May 2015, and after losing Ramadi, has diverted its attention to Haditha.

It is estimated that Daesh has lost 40 percent of its territory in Iraq, and 20 percent in Syria from its high point last year.
