Construction of the first luxury holiday villas on The World islands development began on Germany Island today, following the appointment of City Diamond Contracting LLC by Kleindienst Group, developer of The Heart of Europe project.

A specialist turnkey design-build contractor headquartered in Dubai, City Diamond Contracting LLC. has begun work on the first of 20 exclusive villas on the six island luxury holiday project, following the successful four-month stabilization process completed by Foundation Construction Group (FCG) last month.

Josef Kleindienst, Chief Executive of the Kleindienst Group said:  “The start of construction on Germany Island is a defining moment, not only for the Kleindienst Group, but for all the government bodies of Dubai who have been facilitating the processes and procedures necessary to get this unique project off the ground.  We are delighted to have reached this milestone in a project that has attracted worldwide attention since we launched The Heart of Europe last year.”

Construction of the first luxury villa is scheduled for completion in Q4 2010 and will be used as a show home for the project to enable investors to select the premium fixtures and finishes for their holiday homes.  The 20 villa development on Germany Island will be handed over in 2011, with 13 villas already sold.

Deepak Arora, CEO of City Diamond Contracting LLC. commented:  “Being the first contractor to begin construction of the first holiday homes on The World is a true honour.  We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with the Kleindienst Group as we bring their vision of The Heart of Europe to reality.”

A family-owned business founded in 1983, City Diamond Contracting LLC has earned a reputation for the construction of high-end luxury residential, commercial and industrial projects in the UAE.  These include 65 ultra-luxury villas in Emirates Hills – the most exclusive millionaire’s residential suburb in Dubai; the world’s largest logistics facility for Emirates Airline; a number of academic institutions for the Knowledge Human & Development Authority, and a range of commercial and industrial developments for multi-national companies in Jebel Ali Free Zone and Dubai.

The Heart of Europe project has attracted global media attention since it launched in December 2009, with more than 20 international TV crews from afar afield as Canada, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Japan and Germany travelling to The World islands to cover the ambitious Dubai project.

The six first-class resort and leisure destination islands making up The Heart of Europe are scheduled for completion in 2015, with the exclusive Monte Carlo Island, the first dedicated luxury entertainment resort within the project, set to open by the end of 2010.
