Arab countries are working towards developing joint enforcement legislations to forbid smoking in public places, Bahrain Tribune reported Saturday.
A General Secretariat of the League of Arab States' Anti-smoking Committee meeting will be held at the Secretariat headquarters in Cairo from September 19th to 21st, the daily added.
Salah Ali, Chairman of the Anti-smoking Program and General Secretary of the National Anti-smoking Committee was quoted by the paper as saying "many Arab countries don't have legislations to forbid smoking in public places. Bahrain has legislations, but it lacks a mechanism to implement them and follow them up," - Albawaba.com
