Free tickets were given to 100 orphans from Dubai Charity Association and 150 schoolchildren to enjoy watching the Harry Potter film preview on Monday at the Grand Cineplex theatre, the Gulf News reported.
Harry Potter, regarded by many as this year's most anticipated movie, has broken box office records on its first weekend on both sides of the Atlantic, and promises to be a big hit in the Middle East.
“This mesmerizing tale of magic has got great reaction from children worldwide and we are hoping to add a touch of that magic to the children attending,” Kawa Jaff, the customer development manager of Kellogg's Middle East, was quoted by the Dubai-based paper as saying.
With over 100 million copies sold in over 46 languages, J.K. Rowling's best-selling series of books based on the adventures of the world's most beloved wizard, Harry Potter, have truly become a worldwide phenomenon, touching and capturing the imaginations of readers of all ages around the globe.
However, the book was barely in print when it captivated British producer David Heyman, the former Hollywood studio executive-turned-producer of such acclaimed independent films as Juice and The Daytrippers.
"There was a lot of interest from numerous directors who wanted to be involved with Harry Potter," Heyman said – Albawaba.com
