Capital style - Abu Dhabi makes a fashion statement
From the fun and funky to the seriously designer, more than 550 mid to high end brands and labels from Europe and the Middle East register interest for Fashion Arabia & Shoe & Leather Fair Middle East - the hottest – and most exclusive - fashion forward event ever to hit the Middle East.
Fashion Arabia and Shoe & Leather Fair Middle East are no ordinary fashion shows. Open to mid to high end designers and labels only, they are causing quite a stir. More than 550 designers and brands from Europe and the Middle East have already registered for their debut, transforming the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi into a new style destination for three packed days between 26 – 28 October 2009.
The reason for the excitement is simple. Fashion Arabia and Shoe & Leather Fair Middle East represent a new creative identity for the UAE’s capital and a focal point for the regions fashion buyers, who, until now, have had to fly to the catwalks of Europe and America to source coveted brands and collections in the mid to high end price points. Not any more.
“Fashion Arabia and Shoe & Leather Fair Middle East are unique propositions styled for buyers and retailers in the Middle East. Combining the most desirable Spring / Summer 2010 collections’ from the international catwalks, world class brands and the energy of up-and-coming designers in an intimate, trade only environment, buyers can source mid to high end merchandise which add that crucial ‘point of difference’ for their stores and satisfy their customers’ demand for something different without travelling to Paris or Milan” explains Christopher Hudson, Managing Director of Mecom Forums, the show organisers.
Projecting a spirit of creativity and international appeal, Fashion Arabia offers an exciting fusion of contemporary designer and directional fashion from over 400 exhibitors and will show collections from more than 30 renowned couture designers and a stellar line up of ‘A’ list designers and tantalising newcomers including: Gaspard Yurkievich (Paris), Sakina M’Sa (Paris), Carta E Costura (Milan), Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (Dubai) and Kyri (London).
This is all great news for buyers who will be spoilt for choice with an unrivalled and diverse offer including an outstanding collection of couture and boutique brands, directional and inspirational ready-to-wear brands for men, women and children, contemporary bridge lines offering a mix of tailored and time-less collections, exquisite evening and occasion wear, Islamic fashion, bridal wear, lingerie & swimwear, active sports, young urban fashion and casual wear for a quick delivery from the current season.
