ALBAWABA - Ten people were hurt and one person died in a terrible incident at the Tünektepe Cable Car Facility in Antalya after a cable car cabin crashed with a falling post. Eight people from the cabin fell into a rocky area as a result of the disaster, which happened over the busy Ramadan vacation.

Following reports from onlookers, emergency services - including firefighters, police, medical teams, and rescue personnel - reacted quickly to the situation. 29 people who are still stranded in 5 dangling cabins are being worked to free, but 137 people have already been rescued from 19 cabins.

Memiş Gümüş (54), an attorney on vacation with his family for the month of Ramadan, was named as the deceased victim. After his body was turned over to his family for burial, it was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy. His spouse and kids, who sustained injuries in the same accident, are being treated in a hospital in the meantime.

The governorate verified that helicopters are being used to help evacuate people who are stuck in the cabins as part of continuing rescue efforts. 112 people have been successfully evacuated as per the most recent report, and more work is being done to guarantee the safety of every passenger.

Ali Yerlikaya, the interior minister, commended the rescue teams' efforts, stressing the methodical nature of the ongoing operations and the coordinated reaction involving multiple authorities. Authorities are working nonstop to handle the aftermath of the catastrophe and guarantee the safety of all impacted parties, thanks to a large team of search and rescue workers, as well as air and ground support.
