Writer-producer Chris Henchy proposed to Suddenly Susan’s Brooke Shields on a romantic weekend in Mexico, said Shields' publicist, Mia Ricchiuti on Monday.
"He took her away for the weekend and asked her on Saturday night. I don't really know any of the details, but she did say yes," Ricchiuti told the Associated Press, offering no other details.
Henchy, 37, was a producer on the canceled Battery Park series on NBC.
Shields, 35, was previously married to tennis champion Andre Agassi, with whom she bore no children.
She married Agassi, who is now seeing fellow tennis ace Steffi Graf, in 1997, after dating for two years. They divorced in 1999.
According to the Associated Press, the couple’s engagement became public after New York City jeweler Stephen Russell announced he had designed Shields' engagement ring. He described it as "an antique cushion-cut diamond ring set in platinum and diamond mounting"—albawaba.com.
