ALBAWABA - Romanian authorities announced that four people were killed Monday evening when a tourist boat capsized in the Danube Delta, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Romanian emergency services revealed in a statement that they received a report of an accident in the Gulf of Mossoura, southeast of the country, which resulted in a number of passengers on a tourist boat falling into the water.
Upon arriving at the scene, medical teams unsuccessfully attempted to revive four people who were in cardiorespiratory arrest, according to the statement.
The four dead included three adults and a child. The statement did not specify their nationalities or ages.
Ten other passengers were rescued, and one of them was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, according to the same source.
Authorities have not officially determined the cause of the accident, but a police spokesperson told reporters that "strong winds" were blowing through the area.
