British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday defended the U.S.-led campaign to topple Saddam Hussein. Blair said he would take the same decison on Iraq again - it was a better country and the world a safer place without Saddam Hussein.
"I ask just one thing: Attack my decision but at least understand why I took it and why I would take the same decision again. "Imagine you are PM, and you receive this intelligence and not just about Iraq but about the whole murky trade in WMD ....
In an address to his Labor Party, he said "Iraq has divided the international community, it has divided the party, the country, families, friends. And I know many people are disappointed, hurt, angry. ... I ask just one thing: Attack my decision, but at least understand why I took it and why I would take the same decision again."
