The bodies of an activist from the anti-Daesh group Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently and his friend were found beheaded in Turkey early Friday, AFP reported.
Ibrahim Abdul Qader and his friend Fares Hamadi, both in their 20s, were found at Hamadi's house in Turkey's southern city of Sanliurfa. The city is only 55 kilometers (35 miles) from the Turkish border with Syria's Raqqa province.
The activist group accused Daesh (ISIS) of the murders on its Facebook group. Qader escaped to Turkey more than a year ago from Raqqa, Daesh's de facto capital.
While Daesh regularly targets members from the group, it's the first time one has been killed outside of Syria, the group's founder Abu Mohammad said.
Turkey has long been accused of not cracking down on a porous border and letting Daesh members enter the country.
