BEA Systems, a world leader in infrastructure software, organised today (Sunday, June 26, 2005), the BEA dev2dev day 2005 at Knowledge Village in Dubai. The one day seminar is expected to significantly benefit the growing developer community in the UAE as it provided expert knowledge on the latest standards and open-source development technologies, as well as focussing on breakthroughs in service-oriented architecture (SOA).
The dev2dev day brought together a large number of enterprise developers who are new to Java, J2EE and BEA WebLogic, developers who build web applications, web services, business processes, portals and developers working with service-oriented architectures.
“The BEA dev2dev day which is held around the world, is an educational event designed to provide developers, architects and IT managers with the knowledge and tools needed to design, build, deploy and integrate enterprise-class applications on the industry-leading BEA WebLogic Platform,” said Diyaa Zebian, General Manager, Middle East & Egypt, eSolutions BEA. “The IT sector in the UAE has witnessed a surge in the recent years, opening up numerous opportunities for the developer community in the region. Events such as these provide them a much-needed platform to further their knowledge in the development framework and help them stay abreast of latest standards and technologies.”
The BEA dev2dev helped participants learn how to easily develop service-oriented web applications, web services and workflows. It also focussed on visually orchestrating services into business-level processes and ways to use process-driven development to consume workflow services in web applications. Further, the seminar assisted developers to leverage open-source standards and technologies.
“The success of the BEA dev2dev day can be assessed by the fact that more 7,500 attendees took part in event in 35 cities around the world. Each year we witness a growing interest in this seminar, highlighting the importance of such an event for the entire developer community who are looking to adopt the most advanced technologies. We have scheduled to organise dev2dev days on a regular basis in Dubai,” concluded Zebian.
