Batelco Welcomes Isa Town Girls Secondary School Students to Batelco Knowledge Hub and Directory Enquiries Department
Batelco continues its participation in InJAz, a non-profit organisation which aims to educate Bahraini students about the fundamental concepts of business operations. As part of the successful scheme a group of girls from Isa Town Girls Secondary School have participated in a 10 week programme under the heading Enterprise in Action. The programme, which introduces the different types of private enterprises, was coached by Batelco Senior Product Marketing Manager Nasreen Alasoomi.
To mark the conclusion of the programme, the group of students spent a day at Batelco, visiting the Company’s Knowledge Hub located at Hamala Headquarters and Batelco Directory Enquiries Department located at Telephone House in Salmaniya.
The girls enjoyed a tour of the Knowledge Hub and informative presentations given by the Training staff. At Batelco Customer Assistance Centre in Salmaniya, the girls had the opportunity to see Batelco staff in action dealing with calls to Batelco’s 181 and 188 Directory Enquiries. The department handles around 40,000 calls per day from fixed lines and mobile phones.
“The girls really enjoyed the visit and learned so much from the first hand experience,” said Ms. Alasoomi.
“They are a very enthusiastic group of students who show great promise. I am very pleased to be able to contribute in shaping their future careers.”
One of the students, Zainab Shubber said that she was very interested to learn about the CCNA and NGN programmes held at the Knowledge Hub. Another student Fatima Khamis found the information about the inner workings of the telephone network and internet extremely interesting and would love to make a return visit to learn more.
Batelco regularly facilitates tours for secondary school and university level students, as part of the telecommunication company’s commitment to support community initiatives.
