Barclays gives back to the community as part of ‘Make A Difference Day’
As part of ‘Make a Difference Day’ activities, employees of Barclays engaged in a variety of community activities during the month of October.
Hundreds of Barclays employees volunteered their time and efforts to actively get involved in the following activities: The Burjuman Pink Walkathon, Collective Ghaf Tree Planting Drive in Safa Park - as part of its continued support to Mission Green Earth Stand Up and Take Action Campaign, and three activity packed days with students from the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.
Barclays globally is committed to investing in the communities in which it operates. Corporate Responsibility is a core component of Barclays strategies globally and in the UAE, where they have been actively supporting the local communities through a number of diverse and sustainable initiatives.

Barclays employees are encouraged to volunteer for community projects with dedicated ‘volunteer days’ built into their career development progression”.
Barclays was a key corporate sponsor of the Burjuman Pink Walkathon, which was arranged to raise awareness of and funds for breast cancer. Volunteers from Barclays walked the marathon and manned the registration desks during for this good cause.
With the Dubai Centre for Special Needs being identified as a key local partner for Barclays, a three day volunteering programme was organised for Barclays employees and the students from the centre to engage in activities such as: creative drawing/painting sessions for the children, with artworks planned to be auctioned off to raise funds for the centre, and a student bowling competition at a local Dubai bowling centre. All students received valuable medals for their efforts and aspirations.
As part of its ongoing commitment to Mission Green Earth: Stand Up and Take Action campaign, over 50 Barclays employees also participated in a Collective Ghaf Tree Planting Drive at Safa Park - planting over 600 seeds and preparing them to be replanted in 2 months time in designated public areas under guidance from the Dubai Municipality.
