A multi-million dollar investment boom in the garments, textiles and yarn industry in Bahrain has generated over 3,000 potential jobs for Bahrainis and is poised for more dynamic growth, said a report by Bahrain Tribune.

The daily said that Bahrain's status as an export partner with the US, the largest market for garments and textiles, was the major factor behind the climb this sector has seen in investment.

While the garment industry is managed mainly by Indian companies, with recent entries by Bangladeshi corporations, the textile (yarn spinning and weaving) is dominated by Pakistani companies which have invested nearly $100 million in Bahrain and promised employment for up to 1,000 Bahrainis in this sector, said the report - Albawaba.com
