It has been twelve months in the making but DAY, the award-winning Amsterdam creative agency, has officially opened its Middle East operation. The agency starts with an in-house creative team of seven and an impressive roster of launch clients that include projects for Unilever, Coco-Cola and leading UAE food and beverage retailer, Masafi. The Middle East operation will be headed up by Dennis de Rond, Strategy Partner across DAY's global business.

DAY arrives in the Middle East on the crest of back to back award-winning years at the internationally-acclaimed Red Dot Design Awards. At the 2010 event, held in March this year, the agency won top honours for its creative work on retail solutions for the Van Gough Museum shop and for the pioneering Nike Store in Paris. Indeed, the innovative approach adopted by the agency across both projects resulted in the additional honours of "best of the best" and "distinction for high design quality", being bestowed on the Van Gough Museum shop and Nike Store creative respectively.

Over a two year period, DAY has now won five Red Dot Awards for its creative work. Other award-winning projects recognising the agency's ability to deliver integrated brand platforms and retail designs include that for the Rotterdam Climate Initiative; Clover New York, a children's clothing range made from responsibly sourced and manufactured textiles and Bugaboo, the leading manufacturer of children's strollers.

Commentating on DAY's arrival to the Middle East, Dennis de Rond, Strategy Partner, said:

"This is an exciting milestone in the DAY story. It has always been our ambition to bring our operation into this emerging and dynamic market place. We have taken our time to ensure that are able to offer clients the very best in creative talent coupled with a thorough understanding of the regional market place.

"Our Middle East team combines experience of working, both agency and client side, on some the largest global brands and has a deep understanding of local market values and working practises. We are confident that this invaluable insight will help our clients get to where they want to be and our roster of launch clients certainly supports this view."
