At least 31 people were killed and 15 others remain trapped after avalanches hit Afghanistan’s northern Panjsher province, provincial governor Abdul Rahman Kabiri said Wednesday.
Several houses were also damaged in four districts of the province.
Salang tunnel, which connects Afghanistan's northern and southern provinces, has been blocked since Monday because of heavy snowfall.
