AUTOMECH 2005, the leading trade fair for vehicles, buses, motorcar workshops, service station equipment, automobile spare parts, accessories and feeding industries in the Middle East, is about to take place at Cairo Fair Ground during the period from June 22-26, 2005. The event is to feature a host of leading car manufacturers from all over the world.

Commenting on the competition at the show, Ahmed Ghozzi, Chairman of ACG-ITF, the organizers of AUTOMECH 2005, said: "AUTOMECH has evolved into the most sought-after trade sector in the region as it provides an ideal venue for car manufacturers and dealers to reach out to the large Middle East market. The region has one of the highest per capita levels of car ownership in the world, and the market is steadily expanding."
“The Egyptian market, with its population of 70 million, its central location in the Middle East, its wealth of natural resources and a growing economy will attract investments from a large number of foreign automobile manufacturers, equipment makers and others concerned with this industry. The exhibitors at this year's show include Volks Wagen, Jaguar, Honda, Land Rover, Opel, Chevrolet, Peugeot, Citroen, Toyota, Nissan, Renault, Lexus and BMW,” added Ghozzi.
Being held over 25,000 square meter, AUTOMECH 2005 occupies 10 halls at the Cairo International Fair Ground. The show is celebrating its 10th anniversary incorporating the two-year old AUTOMECH CLASSIC 2, the Second Egyptian Exhibition for Classical Cars. Now held for the second year, the Classic show is this way adding a new asset value to the success of its elderly brother AUTOMECH. The show attracts around 200,000 visitors, most of whom are car-fan youngmen. Meantime, the show is an international business event gathering 278 exhibitors from Egypt, France, Germany, China, India, Korea, Taiwan, U.A.E., Turkey, Romania, Japan, U.S.A., Malaysia, Netherlands, and Italy.

During the show, Chevrolet will showcase its new experimental car 'Concept' for the first time in the country. The car, which has not yet entered the General Motors production line worldwide, is presented to monitor visitors' impressions prior to actual production.

"The display of Concept at the show has evoked keen anticipation among car enthusiasts. There will also be a special surprise at the show presented by Hyundai concerning the announcement of a new 2000cc model with expectations to score the best-sale in the market for a long period to come," Ghozzi said.

A key point of interest at AUTOMECH 2005 will be the showcasing of new Chinese car models to the local market. "Chinese cars such as Chery and Geely have made considerable inroads in the low-end segment of the local market, withstanding the competition of international brands operating in the country. AUTOMECH 2005 provides an excellent platform for them to showcase their latest models to car dealers and consumers in the Middle East, and thereby seek to gain a foothold in the booming automobile market of the region, especially Egypt," said Ghozzi.

AUTOMECH 2005, from this spectrum, is a comprehensive trade show that will feature exhibitors from across the automotive sector and its feeding industries. The event will serve as an excellent platform for the Middle East automobile industry through presenting the latest products, services and technologies for the regional trade markets.
