An Australian teacher was killed in a fight with a Bahraini driver in Manama, two weeks before he was due to retire, reported the Gulf Daily.
Peter Aubrey Bolin, who was in his early 60s, struck his head when he was punched to the ground, said the paper.
He died on the spot from internal haemorrhaging.
The paper said that Bolin was walking when he got into a verbal dispute with a Bahraini driver, which resulted in an exchange of punches, sources said.
The Bahraini was reportedly in police custody.
Bolin has been working for the Bahrain Amiri Air Force Technical Institute as an English teacher for more than six months.
Head teacher, Raul Poblete, said Bolin was retiring and was to leave Bahrain in two weeks.
