Fikr8 Executive committee holds a brainstorming meeting & launches the preparations for the conference
As part of its annual efforts and in keeping with ATF goals of excellence in all its endeavors the ATF eighth annual conference (FIKR8), welcomes to its annual brainstorming discussion. The ATF has gathered some of the best minds in the Arab region, for a deep and meaningful exchange of ideas that will help to identify the most pressing issues challenging Arab businesses and society nowadays, in order to insure the most suitable agenda for the next conference. The primary focus will be to promote the unique value and culture of the Arab people, promote youth programs and entrepreneurial sprite, the acumen in business practices and to foster understanding of the Arab Thought leadership with the hope of building global goodwill.
Therefore, in order to generate new ideas and determine the most relevant and constructive topics to be discussed and included in Fikr8 conference agenda, the Executive Committee holds, today, Monday, February 2nd 2009, its first brainstorming session in Beirut, to suggest relevant themes and topics for FIKR8 agenda, shaping the discussion that will drive the success of this signature event.
Dr. Soliman Abdel-Moniem, the Arab Thought Foundation’ Secretary General, Mr. Hamad AlAmmari, FIKR Conferences’ Executive Director, and both Assistants Secretary General of the Arab Thought Foundation Dr. Ali Moussa and Dr. Monera Al-Nahedh; in addition to ATF President’s advisor, Mr. Ahmad Al-Ghoz, will be assembled together, with a number of Arab intellectuals and thinkers who were invited to bring their opinions and insights to the program and agenda. Amongst them we mention, Dr. Oussama Safa, Head of the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies, Mr. Jamal Khashoggi, Editor-in-Chief of “Al-Watan” Saudi newspaper, Dr. Mohammed Al-Rumaihi – Editor-in-Chief of “Awan” Kuwaiti newspaper, and Dr. Amro Al-Shoubaki from Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Egypt.
As its previous annual conferences, which discussed various issues such as the Arab culture, education, media, globalization and transformation, the Arab Thought Foundation’s Eighth Annual Conference (FIKR8), seeks to respond to the undercurrents of change and meet the new demands, through generating new comprehensive forward-looking ideas and content; a content that will comply with the economic and geopolitical changes arising in the Arab world. The assembled thinkers will be asked therefore, to nominate well-known, Arab and non-Arab speakers, to be invited to FIKR8 conference; speakers able to provide new values and new relationships, fostering information exchange and creating the right environment conductive to active interaction and networking among panelists and participants, so that participants are eager to be included in the conference.
FIKR Conferences’ Executive Committee is headed by His HRH Prince Bandar Bin Khalid Al Faisal, founder and member of ATF’s Board of Directors. The committee’s membership includes as well Dr. Soliman Abdel-Moniem, the Arab Thought Foundation’s Secretary-General and Mr. Hamad AlAmmari, FIKR Conferences’ Executive Director.
The Arab Thought Foundation is an independent, international, non-governmental institution, having no political or sectarian ties. It is a solidarity initiative between the business community and the intellectuals to promote the proud attachment to the nation core values through a responsible freedom. The Arab Thought Foundation was founded by HRH Prince Khalid Al Faisal; its members comprise elite Arab businessmen from all Arab countries, in addition to a number of thinkers, intellectuals and experts in all cultural and scientific fields. The Foundation hold its annual conference namely “FIKR” Annual Conference and issues the Arab Report on Cultural Development deemed the index of cultural development in the Arab world.
