MAS – Media & Advertising Specialist, a Dubai based media & events company, has announced the launch of the Arab Run, the first ever sports car lifestyle event in the Middle East that will bring together over 100 high end exclusive sports cars in a test of endurance of both man and machine. In true Dubai style, these super sports cars will cruise through the city on a course that will then run coast to coast and back again. The event is set to commence on April 27th 2007.
Inspired by the Cannon Race and Gumball 3000, a name which originates from the die-hard adventurer Erwin G. “Cannon Race” & “Gumball 3000” Baker, the greatest USA cross-country record breaker of them all, the Arab Run is geared more towards a lifestyle event than a hard core race.
“Arab Run will prove to be an experience of a lifetime; a challenge that combines the very best in car driving and cruising together with a fun, entertainment, glamour and excitement. We are inviting 100 of the very best super cars and their proud owners/drivers and co-drivers to a high profile adventure,” said Qiass Issa, Arab Run Founder & CEO. “We have already got a Bugatti, some Ferraris, Lamborghinis and a Mercedes SLR. It is absolutely incredible! By the time April 27th comes around we expect to have over AED100 million in car value parading the streets of Dubai.”
The Arab Run will kick off at the Jumeirah Bab Al-Shams Desert Resort and Spa on the morning of the 27th where participants will gather and drive in a convoy to the Dubai Autodrome. All participants will then have the opportunity to show real speed on the 5.39 kilometer motor racing track with state of the art facilities to match paced by a professional driver.
The next leg of the event will take drivers across the UAE to Fujairah where participants will assemble at Le Meridien Al-Aqah Beach Resort for dinner. The evening’s proceedings will also include a special presentation ceremony where awards will be given out in numerous categories including ‘Super Car of the Day’ and ‘Best Driver.’
Peppermint Club will be the final destination for the day where Arab Run officials will host the inaugural Arab Run party.
“It is important to emphasize that safety and lawful driving are the foundation of the event and we are in constant contact with Dubai Police & EMSF (Emirates Motor Sports Federation) who have approved our plans and will be actively participating in the event,” said Ameen Nasser, MAS CEO & Managing Director. “We have also hired professional drivers from the to monitor and guide the participants on the cross country adventure.”
Arab Run is designed for the exclusive – only the best cars get to participate. Each participant will be selected based on the type of super car they own, the more exclusive the car, the better chance of being selected to take part.

Event organizers have already received hundreds of applications from which only the top 100 cars will be selected. It is important to note that the event is not a race or a rally or a competition to come first. The aim of Arab Run is to create a unique super car event full of glitz, glamour and fun.
