Algerian President to Visit Berlin, Moscow

Algerian President Abdelaziz Boutaflika starts Monday an official a tour that will take him to Berlin and Moscow for bilateral talks with senior officials, reported the official KUNA news agency.  

It will the first visit by an Algerian president to Germany since the African country claimed its dependence in 1962. Bouteflika is due to meet German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer and President Johannes Rau, said the agency.  

Bouteflika will also pay an official visit to Russia for talks with President Vladimir Putin. 

His visit to Moscow aims at strengthening bilateral economic ties as well as discussing several political issues, especially the Middle East peace process, said KUNA – Albawaba.com
