ALBAWABA - Algerian foreign ministry released a statement denying social media allegations that says Algeria has asked the UAE ambassador in the country to leave.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria has assured that all that is being shared on social media about the UAE ambassador in Algeria is fake.

It further told citizens to only follow official accounts and the ministry's websites for trusted news.

In the statement, Algeria also reaffirmed its strong relationship with the United Arab Emirates and that Algeria and UAE are always looking forward to enhancing ties in all fields.

Later the same night, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune dismissed Minister of Communication Mohamed Bouslimani on Tuesday night. Despite that no official statement has been released that the dismissal is related to the UAE ambassador case, many activists linked both cases, France 24 reported.

A statement was released at around midnight, said: "After consulting the Prime Minister, Alerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ended the duties of the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, and assigned the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communication to run the ministry's affairs on behalf."
