Until this week, Alec Baldwin had only a passenger’s view of flying; but all this is about to change, according to Mr.Shobizz.
“I knew I liked first class better than business class, and I like smoked almonds better than peanuts,” the actor told the Associated Press in an interview.
But, as part of his preparation for his role as aviation legend Lieutenant-Colonel Jimmy Doolittle in Pearl Harbor, the gruff-voiced leading man’s been doing aviation research at Fort Rucker, an Army flight-training center in Alabama.
Looking the part in a flight suit, Baldwin recounted piloting a C-12 fixed-wing simulator and UH-60 Black Hawk and AH-64 Apache helicopter simulators.
“The good news is, I did well with the bombing,” he told reporters. “The bad news is, I crashed the helicopter five times in a row in the landing. So I flew well, bombed well, and then I crashed.” Well, two out of three isn’t that bad!
