Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, declared Sunday that a top brigades leader survived an assassination attempt in Gaza.
A statement for the brigades said that an Israeli occupation agent planted a small and powerful explosive device outside the house of one of the resistance fighters in Al-Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza but the bomb went off before the leader exited his vehicle outside the house.
The statement added that the brigade's security body revealed that the bomb was not designed to destroy property but to kill anyone that comes near it.
Al-Quds Brigades warned the Israeli forces that its retaliation will be decisive and swift.
In the meantime, Israel Radio reported that Israeli forces arrested Sunday three Palestinians in Al-Khalil (Hebron) for belonging to the Islamic Jihad and took them to an undisclosed location.
It said that an Israeli army force, backed by several vehicles, raided and searched tens of Palestinian houses in Doura village.
The radio indicated that the Israeli forces also arrested four unarmed Palestinians in central Gaza for claims that they were trying to infiltrate into Israel in search of jobs.
