Air France said that it was forced to cancel about 100 domestic and medium-haul flights on Sunday as a strike by pilots and mechanics entered its third day.
The action forced the cancellation of about a third of flights between Paris and Toulouse and Paris and Bordeaux, and from Toulouse, Marseille and Strasbourg to Paris, according to Air France's passenger information service on the Internet.
The stoppage, the fifth in the last five months, is over the application of France's 35-hour week labor legislation.
On other routes, including Paris to Marseilles, Nice and Strasbourg, and from Lyon to Paris, around one quarter of flights were cancelled.
All long-distance flights were operating normally, Air France said.
Unions representing roughly one-third of the airline's pilots called a four-day strike from October 20-23 to press demands that officials begin talks on reducing the number of hours worked on a monthly basis -- PARIS (AFP)
