A ceremony marking the inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi was held under
the patronage of HH Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Foreign
Trade, HE Alain Azouaou, Ambassador of France to the UAE,.and His
Excellency Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of ADAC.

Present at the occasion, were senior representatives of Abu Dhabi
Airports Company, and Mr. Pierre Descazeaux, Senior Vice President
Africa & Middle East AIR FRANCE KLM. Speaking at the inaugural flight
ceremony, Pierre Descazeaux commented: “We are delighted to start the
operation of this new service which links the capital cities of the UAE
and France with a non-stop service that will benefit both countries,
creating new leisure, cultural and commercial opportunities. It reflects
the increasing importance of the UAE and the emergence of Abu Dhabi as a
world class centre of global business, culture, sport and leisure.”

With the addition of the new non-stop route, the total combined number
of Air France KLM flights from the UAE has increased from 28 to 30 per
week, with the start of the 2010 summer program. The new Air France
service alongside the existing six weekly non-stop flights operated by
KLM between Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam will provide access for the Abu
Dhabi traveler to 100 destinations in Europe and the Americas.


Passengers on board Air France flights from the UAE will also have more
choice with the introduction of the new ‘Premium Voyageur’ cabin,
positioned between Business and Economy Class. In this intermediary
cabin range, Air France is the *first European airline *to offer
fixed-shell seats, and the *first airline in the world* to offer so much
legroom.
