Dubai Summer Surprises 2007 will witness a mega shopping promotion during its 10th anniversary celebrations where shoppers will be able to win cash prizes worth AED 500,000 every week throughout the 10 week extravaganza – a total purse of AED 5 million dirhams is up for grabs during the promotion across 21 participating malls.

Announcing the promotion, Ibrahim Saleh, DSS Chief Operating Officer said: “Every year, Dubai Summer Surprises has been growing bigger and bigger and today, it has made Dubai a major international attraction on the summer holidaymakers’ itinerary. It is a great example of concerted teamwork of Dubai’s various government departments and agencies, coming together and creating this mega event.”

Commenting on this year’s promotion, Eisa Adam Ibrahim, President, Dubai Shopping Malls Group said: “This year, Dubai Summer Surprises will be celebrating its 10th year of phenomenal growth which has transformed Dubai summers into an exciting time for both residents and visitors alike. This year, we are giving away millions of dirhams to reward shoppers who patronize the participating malls and build on the success the event has enjoyed till now. Dubai Shopping Malls Group is proud to continue its sponsorship of this exciting promotion and every participating mall in Dubai will ensure that this event achieves even greater heights of success this year.”

Shoppers will get one coupon for every 200 dirhams worth of purchases across 21 participating malls in Dubai. Purchases made using MasterCard credit cards will automatically get 3 coupons for every 200 dirhams worth of purchases, as MasterCard is a key sponsor of the promotion.

Eisa also pointed out that raffles have become major attractions in both DSS and DSF, to the extent that many families postpone their shopping plans and wait for these two mega events so they can enter raffle draws to win prizes. “Many shoppers view raffles as a chance to change their lives and draws have become so popular that people look forward to them,” he said.

Explaining the mechanics of the 10 week promotion, Ibrahim Saleh said: “This year, we decided to hold 10 draws – with prize money of AED 500,000 going to one winner every week – to create one of the biggest shopping incentives in the region as the large winning amount offers a huge motivation for shoppers to shop more and accumulate as many coupons as possible.”
