Acer Launches High Performance Mobility Products

Acer Computer, the Middle East’s leading supplier of notebook computers will have its mobility product line powered by the next generation of Intel’s Centrino® Duo processor technology codenamed ‘Santa Rosa’.

Santa Rosa is a combination of Intel’s next generation Core™ 2 Duo processor, its chipset family and Next-Gen Wireless-N network, coming together to provide a platform, that builds on saving power and increasing performance.

Acer notebooks – running on a Santa Rosa platform – will be available for both consumer and commercial users. High-end Acer notebooks, building on the IT vendor’s motto of empowering people, will provide customers with technology that simplifies multitasking.

“At Acer we aim to provide innovative technology all the time, and working with Intel we want to make computing simple, and at the same time give customers top-of-the-range products that will take them to the next generation of computing,” said Mark Prosser, Product Marketing Manager, Mobility Products, Acer Computer (M.E) Ltd.

Emphasising on mobility, Acer will provide their ‘Signal Up Technology’ across the product line. This technology enhances wireless performance by improving on connectivity.

Another mobility enhancement is Intel Turbo Memory that uses flash memory to increase system response time.

“We want to offer something fresh to our customers by incorporating state-of-the-art technologies that provide additional value to dependable high-end products,” added Prosser.

Acer’s new range of high performance notebooks will come in a new magnesium alloy casing, providing added protection for its LCD screen.

Acer’s new line of notebooks will be available in the market from mid May 2007.

Acer Computer (M.E) has been awarded ‘Superbrands’ status for 2007 by the Superbrands organisation, an independent arbiter on branding.
