The King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s “Dreams Come True” Program received a six months (July-December 2009) sponsorship from Abdali Investment and Development Psc. The Dreams Come True Program aims to help pediatric cancer patients undergoing rigorous treatment, through a series of activities and entertainment programs.

The “Dreams Come True” Program includes entertainment activities such as arranging birthday parties for each in-patient during their treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), holding an end-of-treatment celebration for each child who has bravely completed his/her treatment, granting final wishes to terminally ill patients, granting wishes to underprivileged patients, supplying toys and arts & crafts material for KHCC’s playroom, and distributing gifts to all in-patient children on various religious holidays and special events throughout the year. The program provides a refuge for children undergoing cancer care- providing and creating an atmosphere of fun and joy for pediatric patients during their long and difficult treatment.

HRH Princess Dina Mired, Director General of KHCF, expressed her appreciation for the formidable partnership that Abdali Investment and Development Psc has developed with the Foundation and reinforced the importance of community involvement in fighting cancer and aiding patients at KHCC. The Dreams Come True Program, she said, “allows us to provide comprehensive cancer care to our littlest patients, treating the patient with the disease, not merely the disease.”  Mr. Mouhib Itani, CEO of Abdali Investment and Development Psc, stated his company’s delight in affiliating with the Foundation to provide hope, joy and fun for KHCC’s pediatric patients.

Abdali Investment and Development Psc started its partnership with KHCF in 2007 through a platinum sponsorship of the 2007 Hope Gala. The partnership grew further through Abdali’s sponsoring one of the Summer Camps for pediatric patients at KHCC in 2008, and also supporting KHCF by regularly purchasing handmade greeting cards painted by pediatric children at the Center.

Abdali Psc also donated JD 10 to the Foundation for each runner who successfully and legally completed the entire 42 kilometers of the first Amman International Marathon in October. One thousand one hundred and nineteen runners finished the 42k race resulting in a donation of JD 1,190 to the Foundation from Abdali Psc.

All proceeds from KHCF programs directly support KHCC, allowing the Center to provide the most comprehensive care for cancer patients in Jordan and the Middle East region.

KHCC is considered a pioneer in providing the best comprehensive healthcare for adult and pediatric patients in the Middle East. In addition, it has earned multiple international accreditations. In 2006, KHCC earned accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCAHO), as a general hospital for abiding by the highest standards of international healthcare. This certification was renewed in 2009. In 2007, JCAHO accreditation was awarded to KHCC as a cancer-specific center.

KHCC achieved additional accreditation in 2009 from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for its exceptional high quality of pathology and laboratory services as well as receiving an accreditation from the Health Accreditation Council of Jordan (HCAC) which affirms that KHCC is applying national healthcare quality standards for patient care, patient safety, and organizational excellence.
