A kitchen fire in a Beirut hotel on Sunday led to the evacuation of approximately 80 Russian, Romanian, and Ukranian women dancers, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
The paper quoted the National News Agency as saying that civil defense personnel used a mechanical ladder for the first time to rescue the women from the seven-floor building.
The fire broke out in the first-floor kitchen of the Pavillion hotel in Hamra, said the agency.
A civil defense spokesman said that furniture and kitchen equipment were damaged, but nobody was hurt.
