ALBAWABA - The regional governor and emergency services in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia reported on Wednesday that six people have been killed in the Russian missile strike that destroyed a clinic on Tuesday, with four more persons still buried beneath the debris.
Governor Ivan Fedorov posted on his Telegram message channel that 22 more persons had been hurt. "All city emergency service is on the scene," he stated. Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that rescuers were able to extract two women from beneath the building's rubble overnight.
Rescuers and machinery were seen working in mounds of wreckage from a collapsed building at night, according to photos provided on the emergency's Telegram channel.
Russia regularly conducts airstrikes in Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region. An attack on the city last Friday killed ten people and injured over 20 others.
Both sides deny targeting civilians in their attacks, claiming that the goal is to destroy infrastructure critical to their respective battle efforts.
President Volodymyr Zelensky requested Ukraine's partners on Tuesday to deliver 10-12 more Patriot air defense systems, claiming they would properly defend the country's airspace.
