ALBAWABA - The Syrian defense ministry said in a statement that six people were killed in Israeli strikes on border crossings with Lebanon shortly after midnight on Wednesday, hours before a Hezbollah-Israel ceasefire went into force.
"The Israeli enemy launched an air aggression from the direction of Lebanese territory, targeting border crossings between Syria and Lebanon," the defense ministry said in the statement.
"The aggression killed six people, including two soldiers while the rest were civilians, and injured 12 others including children, women, and Syrian Arab Red Crescent workers," the statement added.
The Red Crescent previously stated that a volunteer was killed and another was injured in "the aggression that targeted the Al-Dabousyeh and Al-Arida crossings... as they were performing their humanitarian duty of rescuing the wounded early on Wednesday,".
According to the statement, the walkout damaged many ambulances and work points. Syrian state television stated that the Israeli strike struck the Arida and Dabousieh border crossings with Lebanon.
