ALBAWABA - The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that the total number of journalists killed in the strip since Oct. has risen to 49.
In a statement made on Tuesday, the Gaza media office said that journalist Yahya Abu Mnea, who worked for local Al-Aqsa Radio, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.
Shortly after the statement, WAFA, the Palestinian official news agency, announced the death of another journalist, Mohammad Abu Hasira.
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that the death toll in the region amid ongoing Israeli attacks since Oct. 7 has jumped to 10,328, including 4,237 children and 2,719 women.
Hamas Al-Aqsa Flood operation
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters "infiltrated" Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip.
