ALBAWABA - The Sudanese Foreign Ministry released a statement accusing Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of committing a massacre that led to the killing of 40 people in the Sennar State.

"RSF gunmen carried out a new aggression on different areas in the Sennar State, including the villages of the Jebel Moya area, that left 40 defenseless civilians killed," the foreign ministry said in the statement.

It further stated that the RSF raids across Sennar State resulted in additional waves of displacement after people were forcibly evicted from their homes. The Foreign Ministry accused the RSF of converting the major hospital in Sinjah, Sennar State's capital, into a military camp.

On Sunday, the Sudanese army stated that its soldiers were fighting the RSF in Sinjah, forcing residents to abandon their homes.

In a separate attack, Minni Minawi, the governor of the Darfur area, stated in a tweet on platform X that the RSF damaged a private hospital in El Fasher’s Grand Market. He added that they had targeted all hospitals in the vicinity with high-precision weapons.

In a subsequent tweet, Minawi stated that the RSF attacked Jabal Marra Hospital in El Fasher less than 40 minutes after the strike on the private hospital.

The fighting in Sudan, which began in April 2023, has killed over 16,000 people, displaced almost 10 million people, and left over 25 million in need of humanitarian aid, making it one of the world's greatest displacement and famine crises, according to the United Nations.

Sudan has been embroiled in conflict between the army, commanded by Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, leader of the ruling Sovereign Council, and the RSF paramilitary force.
