12 Burned Alive as Gas Tanker Explodes in India

At least 12 people were burned to death when a gas tanker collided with a truck Sunday near the northern Indian city of Kanpur, the United News of India said. 

The police said six others were seriously injured when the tanker carrying inflammable gas exploded in a ball of fire after ramming the stationary truck in Bara village near Kanpur. 

The victims were killed instantly, a Kanpur police spokesman said -- NEW DELHI (AFP)
