Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), the award-winning loyalty programme from Starwood Hotels and Resorts, today announced the launch of its exclusive 'Millionaire' Amateur Golf Challenge being held at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Abu Dhabi on Thursday December 9th, 2010.
The lucky tournament winner will walk away with one million Starpoints - equivalent to up to 100 free nights' stay at many of the 1,000 Starwood hotels and resorts around the world. This means that the winning SPG member could choose to take a break every year for the next decade in hotels and resorts as enticing as The W Maldives or The Grosvenor House, Dubai; use SPG Flights to purchase air travel with no black out dates; or bid for once in a lifetime, money can't buy experiences with SPG Moments.
Any SPG member who knows their woods from their irons and fancies their chances at coming in at or below par at the Saadiyat Beach course, designed by golf legend Gary Player, can use 15,000 of their Starpoints for one of the100 coveted spots in the tournament. For non-SPG members, Starwood is also offering a chance to participate by giving away tournament 'golden tickets'.

During the tournament, SPG members will be treated to the finest hospitality, a variety of food and refreshments and personlised t-shirts. Along with a main prize of one million SPG points, other prizes including vacation packages will be handed out at the tournament.
