‘Sadia’s Biggest Biryani Bowl’ attracts thousands of visitors to Global Village

Global Village, member of Tatweer Dubai and premier tourism destination in Dubailand, hosted the Sadia’s Biggest Biryani Bowl on Friday, February 6, 2009. The celebration was an official event organized as part of DSF 2009.

More than ten thousand visitors of different nationalities gathered in the Indian Food Court located beside the World Culture Stage at Global Village for the feat.

Thirty chefs, part of the Emirates Culinary Guild and from various restaurants and hotels such as Shangri-la Hotel, Radisson SAS Hotel, and the Metropolitan Hotel, led the preparation and cooking of the massive dish.

The cooking process took almost four hours beginning at 4pm. 1,200 kilos of Daawat rice, 800 kilos of Sadia boneless chicken, 48 kilos of Shan biryani masala, 155 litres of oil, and 320 litres of yoghurt, besides other ingredients were needed to cook the biryani.
