US Senate Republicans recently sent a letter to Iran warning they will nix a nuclear deal between the two countries as soon as Obama leaves office in 2016.  The unlikely "coalition" between the two governments against Obama’s ambitions highlights some surprising but striking similarities between US conservatives and Iranian hardliners.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to US Congress earlier this month was his third such speech – the first being in 1996 and the second 2011.  According to a statistical analysis (because patience isn’t everyone’s virtue when it comes to watching entire political speeches) of the Israeli PM’s speech, usage of the word “Iran” soared sky-high this time around.  Considering the leader’s staunch opposition to a possible US-Iran nuclear deal in the near future, it isn’t so surprising then that Bibi said “Iran” more often than simple functional words like “and” and “is.”
