After the revolution, Tunisia's LGTBQ community faces fits and starts  

Tunisia is, by many standards, the most progressive and inclusive country in North Africa. The 2011 Arab Spring uprisings began in that country, and have seen the most success there.  An increasing number of Tunisians have begun to live more comfortably in the years since the revolution, enjoying unprecedented cultural and social openness. It is, as such, hardly shocking to observe the increasing freedoms enjoyed by Tunisia’s LGBTQ community.

Battling (in) tribal Sinai  

The lethal attacks of Egypt's deadliest militant group, Ansar Beit al-Maqdis (ABM), expanded drastically after the Egyptian military toppled elected President Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood in July 2013 after mass protests against his rule. Hundreds of police, troops and citizens have been killed in the restive north of the Sinai Peninsula as a result of these attacks in the last year and a half.
