Yemeni soldiers have beaten some anti-government protesters who were celebrating the resignation of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and demanding the ouster of their president.
According to the AP, hundreds of protesters in Sanaa had tried to reach the Egyptian embassy on Saturday. Witnesses conveyed several thousand protesters were driven out of Sanaa's main square by troops and plainclothes security agents on Friday night. The Yemeni demonstrators tore up pictures of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and chanted slogans demanding his immediate resignation.
