An official source at Sharjah's Department of Civil Aviation on Sunday dismissed media reports about the landing of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's plane at the Sharjah International Airport. The UAE's news agency, in a brief statement, said the announcement comes "in response to what was reported by some news agencies, TV networks and web sites."

Reports have suggested that Mubarak will move to the UAE, following last week's visit by the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, to Cairo, where he met with the toppled Egyptian leader. Before the meeting, U.S. President, Barack Obama, spoke on the telephone with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
