Suleiman: Mubarak son will not run in election

Omar Suleiman, Egypt's Vice President confirmed that Gamal Mubarak, son of President Hosni Mubarak and the Secretary of the Policy Committee of the ruling National Democratic Party would not run in the next presidential elections. Sulaiman added that articles 76 and 77 and other articles of the Constitution will be amended. Article 88 prevented judges from supervising the elections. He also stated that constitutional amendments to guarantee the transfer of power in Egypt will be introduced. 

Suleiman emphasized that those involved in the clashes at Tahrir Square and other criminals will be held accountable. 

The Vice-President promised that young detainees who have not committed any criminal acts and just participated in the protests will be released immediately.
