In another development in Egypt, the country's Prosecutor-General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud on Thursday evening announced the travelling ban on former Secretary General of the ruling National Democratic Party Ahmed Ezz, as well as the former Ministers of Tourism, Housing and Interior in addition to a number of other officials. The authorities also decided to freeze their bank accounts.
In a statement, the Egyptian Prosecutor General said that in light of the current events, including acts of vandalism, looting and theft of public and private property, arson and murder, lawlessness and damage to the national economy he decided to issue several resolutions.
The decisions include travel ban on prominent businessman Ahmed Ezz, the former Minister of Interior Habib el-Adli, former Tourism Minister Zuhair Garrana and former Housing Minister Ahmed El-Maghrabi.
Meanwhile, a foreign citizen was killed during clashes between supporters and opponents of President Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, according to Agence France Presse. The agency explained that the foreigner died from severe beatings in the Tahrir Square in central Cairo.
The news came following reports on growing number of attacks on journalists covering the events in the country. A number of journalists were injured.
