On Tuesday 31st, @DarthPutinKGB was suspended by Twitter. Everyone’s favoirte Putin parody account is back now, however, having been reinstated the following day. It’s unclear why Twitter suspended the account, which parodies Russian president Vladimir Putin. Twitter suspended other accounts parodying Russian politicians that day as well.
Darth Putin has some connections to the Middle East, and although it’s hardly his main focus, tweets regularly on Russia’s involvement in the Syrian Civil War. He has spoofed Russia’s bombing of hospitals, and has insinuated Syrian president Bashar al-Assad kills civilians in the war.

These tweets are often popular, and his most recent tweet on Syria was retweeted over 300 times. Some frequent Syria commentators, such as Michael Weiss, rushed to Darth Putin's defense during the brief suspension.
