Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has become the target of a pretty impressive Twitter storm after his comments at the World Zionist Congress earlier this week sparked controversy worldwide.
Netanyahu asserted that Adolf Hitler only had plans to expel the Jews from Germany until he met Palestinian mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini,who encouraged him to exterminate them. The Israeli PM backtracked in later statements, but the damage was already done—the Internet went wild.
After the serious backlash came a snarky hashtag, #BibiHistoryLessons, as Twitter users mused on what else the Palestinians might be responsible for.
