Today marked the beginning of the 28th session of the Arab Summit. Ministers and Heads of States gathered from 22 countries in the Arab world in Jordan, to discuss some of the most complex issues affecting stability in the region.

Tension were clearly running high when Lebanese President Michel Aoun stumbled over a step on the red carpet and landed flat on his face - ouch! His security rushed to his side but sadly not quite in time to save him from thudding to the ground as King Salman of Saudi Arabia stood watching. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt in a bad way and later in the day proceeded to take the stage to address the summit on Lebanon’s security situation. In reference to the conflict in Syria Aoun said that ‘the storm hasn’t hit us yet, but Lebanon is suffering the consequences’, calling for the refugees’ swift and safe return - reported the Daily Star.
